AHCSA has launched a new campaign to highlight the role of vaccines in protecting individuals, families and communities. It encourages people to seek information about vaccination from trusted healthcare professionals to make informed choices.

Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect against vaccine-preventable diseases. Despite this, Australia has declining vaccine coverage. The recent increase in diphtheria cases demonstrates vaccination is as important now as ever.

Using clear and positive messaging, our campaign highlights the benefits of vaccines at all life stages. It notes vaccines protect individuals but also the people around them, including vulnerable community members such as babies and Elders.

The campaign reminds people maximum protection is achieved when vaccines are given on time. To counter misinformation while respecting autonomy, it suggests people who are unsure about vaccines speak to trusted health professionals.

The campaign was developed with input from AHCSA’s Aboriginal Cultural Advisory Committee, students and community members. This approach ensures the messaging reflects the voices of Aboriginal communities. It can be adapted for different audiences while maintaining a consistent focus on Aboriginal health and wellbeing.

Keep an eye out for the ‘That’s Solid’ campaign as it rolls out over the coming months.
