Launching Our New Cancer Directory
Learn MoreWe are pleased to launch a new Cancer Directory, bringing together information about cancer services and support available across South Australia.
The directory has been developed by AHCSA’s Priority Programs team in response to the need for clearer, more accessible information about where people can go for cancer screening, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, support and care.
Importantly, the directory has been shaped through collaboration and local knowledge. The team worked alongside AHCSA’s Aboriginal Cultural Advisory Committee (ACAC) and connected with Cancer Officers across South Australia through AHCSA Member Services to understand what information would be most useful for Aboriginal people, families and communities.
The aim is simple: to make the cancer pathway easier to navigate.
Finding the right service or knowing where to start can be difficult, particularly when there are different services available across health, community and support settings. The Cancer Directory brings these options together in one place, helping people find services that can support their medical, practical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural wellbeing.
Whether you’re looking for information about cancer, screening and prevention, or support for yourself, your family, your mob or someone you care about, the directory is designed to help you find your pathway.
Have a service to add or feedback to share?
The directory will continue to grow and improve. If you know of a service or resource that could support others in the community, or have feedback about a listed service, we encourage you to get in touch through the feedback form. Your feedback can also help inform AHCSA’s advocacy for culturally appropriate and accessible cancer care.
The directory is provided as an information resource and is not an endorsement of any listed service, product or therapy. For advice about your health and individual care needs, please speak with your local Aboriginal Health Service or a qualified health professional.
AHCSA acknowledges the contribution of our ACAC members, Cancer Officers and Member Services who shared their knowledge and experience to help make this resource more useful for Aboriginal communities across SA.
