Flinders Medical Centre Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Unit provides emotional, social and cultural support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families accessing Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital, including those affected by cancer. Aboriginal Liaison Officers can assist with practical needs during hospital stays, help explain medical procedures and hospital routines, assist with transport and accommodation arrangements, and support communication between patients, families and healthcare teams. Patients and families are welcome to access the Karpa Ngarrattendi office at Flinders Medical Centre to connect with staff, access health information and receive ongoing support throughout the care journey.
