AHREC Celebrating 40 Years
Pioneering ethical, Community-led research in South Australia.
Since 1986, the Aboriginal Health Research Ethics Committee (AHREC) has set the benchmark for ethical research across South Australia.
For four decades, AHREC has ensured that health research is guided by Aboriginal voices, aligned with Community priorities and grounded in accountability and respect.
“It’s very much about that community led research and having that overview and lens — Ensuring that you do have involvement of the Aboriginal Community and you do have Aboriginal voices in your research” – Michelle Simmons, AHREC Member
AHCSA extends our deepest gratitude to AHREC Chairs and Members, past and present.
Your unwavering dedication has built lasting trust, elevated research standards, and delivered meaningful change to communities.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to more than 40 years of groundbreaking Aboriginal leadership in research ethics.
