Help Shape Aboriginal Health Services for our Mob in Yorke Peninsula (Guranda)

Tell us if a new Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service is needed.

What's this about?

We are exploring whether we can set up a new Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in Yorke Peninsula and nearby areas.

Aboriginal community control of health services means that they are governed and operated by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, with decision-making power held by the local community through majority Aboriginal leadership, and a focus on delivering comprehensive primary healthcare to that community.

Who is involved?

The Narungga Nation Aboriginal Corporation (NNAC) and Point Pearce Aboriginal Corporation (PPAC), representing the leadership and priorities of the local Aboriginal community, are working in close partnership with the Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia, which is leading this feasibility study alongside the Department for Health and Wellbeing and the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.
