Each team in AHCSA works towards achieving the goals of the organisation through the Constitutional Objectives and are subsequently aligned to ensure the work we do is truly AHCSA Business.
Executive
The Executive Team provides day-to-day support to the CEO and Deputy CEO and the organisation as a whole. As core positions to AHCSA, the support ranges from high-level executive assistant support, human resource, information technology, accreditation and governance and health development.
Finance
The Finance Team provides finance assistance and support to the organisation through accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting and meeting the requirements of AHCSA funding agreements. The Chief Finance Officer also provides assistance and support to the AHCSA Members when required.
Admin and Facilities
The Admin Team play the pivotal role to all staff in the organisation by providing administrative support on a daily basis from reception – first point of contact – through to travel, accommodation, workshop assistance to minute taking. The Manager coordinates all the operational needs for the organisation from building and equipment leasing through to supporting the admin team.
Public Health, Primary Health Care and Data Team
This team focuses on providing evidence-based public health advice and supporting the provision of comprehensive primary health care by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) in South Australia. In general, the focus is on building and strengthening capacity within the ACCHSs, rather than direct service delivery.
Activities include providing advice and support for particular issues as they arise, helping with the development of systems for efficient and effective models of care, supporting continuous quality improvement at the local level, supporting the effective development and use of patient information management systems, and developing sustainable capacity within ACCHSs for particular health issues.
Member Support
The Member Support team aim to build the capacity of the AHCSA Members with a strong emphasis on governance, business systems development and workforce support through training, resource development and one on one assistance where required.
Research
The Research Team demonstrates the importance of appropriate research for and by Aboriginal people across the university, government and non-government sectors. This is achieved by participating in research projects, presenting ethical research and coordinating the Aboriginal Health Research Ethics Committee.
Education and Training
The Education and Training Team have the pivotal role of coordinating and supporting the AHCSA RTO to deliver Comprehensive Aboriginal Primary Health Care training to Aboriginal Health Workers across Sector.
Throughout the website the term Aboriginal is used in this context to include people who identify as Aboriginal, people who identify as Torres Strait Islander Peoples and people who identify as both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. It is also used interchangeably with the term Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
