Complaints about aged care services – Insights for providers report 2023 has been released. The highest number of complaints involved medications. The second highest number of complaints in residential care were 'Personal Care - personal and oral hygiene'. This was higher than complaints for staffing, communication, falls, catering, physical environment, constipation and continence. I hope someone will listen to us when we say that we can improve oral health care with best-practice training of staff and funding of oral health practitioners in the aged and home sectors. We are ready and willing to assist. https://lnkd.in/eXjaGZ5Y

Experienced Senior Leader, Non Executive Director, problem solver who cares about people and the planet
Great principles for any organisation. I’d add - “Understand what’s creating uncertainty for organisation” - that’s risk management in practice. #agedcare, #riskmanagement , #qualitydecisionmaking, #whatstheplan
The forthcoming new Aged Care Act2 is expected to crystallise the requirement for "high-quality care” with clear accountability resting on directors for the quality and safety of aged care services. The AICD has released guidance to Australian directors to meet their new responsibilities with 'Governing for quality aged care – A director’s guide'. Get your guide here: https://lnkd.in/gHqzViQT
