GP Education and Training
The General Practice Workforce Team aim to enhance the uptake of Aboriginal Health Checks in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
This Program increases the General Practice (GP) workforce in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) within South Australia in order to increase the number of Aboriginal Health Checks (AHCs) and resource the appropriate follow-up.
AHCSA provides leadership for ACCHSs to promote the benefits of AHCs within a primary health care context and increase the capacity of Aboriginal Health Services to perform AHCs and provide appropriate follow-up services.
AHCSA provides clinical leadership to ensure and enhance the quality of primary health care provision within Aboriginal health services.
GPEx is South Australia’s regional organisation for education and training of doctors who choose to specialise in General Practice (GP). GPEx delivers the AGPT (Australia General Practice Training) Program which is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Health.
A partnership with the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency (RWDA) supports GP recruitment and retention, and oversees the Indigenous Chronic Disease Program providing specialist medical outreach to rural and remote
