This nationally accredited training module (RTO 40142) aims to introduce strengths-based care and support practices for people working in the community services sector. This will facilitate the respectful support of clients accessing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and interventions. Taking a harm minimisation and recovery approach, this training will upskill workers to support clients experiencing AOD concerns. The units provide training in how to deliver a holistic and integrated approach to service delivery and reflects the skills and knowledge required to support clients in the sector.

The modules are grounded in cultural competence, safety and security, and contextualised for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support workers. There is an emphasis on communication and relationship-building skills and person-centred strategies for supporting individuals, families and communities.
