The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) and the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) have entered into a partnership for the delivery of the Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Heath Care qualification (HLT30113) to students residing in South East Queensland.
IUIH was established in 2009 by the four Community Controlled Health Services in SEQ to provide for the needs of Australia’s second largest and fastest growing Indigenous population. IUIH works with the network to develop and deliver comprehensive primary health care services to the Indigenous population of South East Queensland (SEQ). Using the IUIH System of Care, IUIH are empowering communities in SEQ to take responsibility for their own health and specialist services. The IUIH is committed to a regional workforce development strategy to further equip all people to work confidently and competently with urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
IUIH as the training and assessment provider will deliver all training and conduct assessment activities within this training program. Training will take place at IUIH sites and all day-to-day training information and support will be provided by members of the IUIH team.
Further information can be found on the IUIH website here, or by contacting IUIH directly on (07) 3648 9500.
